Maria (Cernecica) Spilca

Maria Spilca, age 85, of Albuquerque, passed away peacefully Saturday morning, April 24, 2021, surrounded by her loved ones at home.

She was born Maria Cernecica on Sunday, August 18, 1935, in Copacele, Romania, daughter of Mihai and Paulina.

Maria was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Ilie Spilca; sister, Ana; brother, Ivan; and sons, Mihai and Nicolae. Maria is survived by son, Ilie Jr.; ten grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.

Maria will be missed but always remembered for her witty personality and unforgettable smile.

Interment will be at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery, 924 Menaul Blvd NE, at 2 p.m. on Monday, May 3, 2021. All are welcome to the home of Ilie and Maria following services.
