MONTOYA, MARGUERITE HERRERAPassed away peacefully at the age of 99 on Thursday, January 31, 2013. She was born on November 13, 1913 to Albino Herrera and Virginia Blanco Herrera in Ignacio, CO. She is survived by her children Manuel Montoya, Leonard (Karen) Montoya, Pauline (Jerry) Brummell and Dianne (Wilbur) Brack. 11 grandchildren, 24 great - grandchildren, and 7 great-great grandchildren - sister in law Katie McKnight, brother-in-law Anselmo (Margaret) Montoya and many beloved nephews and nieces all whom she loved dearly and who now cherish her memory. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 46 years, Manuel R. Montoya, daughters in law Carolina R Montoya, Helen B Montoya, and grandsons, John and Samuel Montoya. Marguerite and Manuel began their married life in Cuba, NM in 1935, then working in California during WWII, followed by memorable years in Durango, CO and lastly moving to Albuquerque in 1952. They were among the first parishioners of Queen of Heaven Parish, formerly Regina Coeli, which was located on Carlisle and Menaul. Marguerite was a former member of Catholic Daughters, Court Santa Maria, Pan American Round Table, and Palo Duro Sr. Center quilting club. She worked at Towne House Dress Shop, retiring after 20 years. Grateful acknowledgment is extended to Patricia Morrow MD, her PCP for over 30 years, Share Your Care, who gave her much love these past 9 months, Vista Care Hospice, Heartland Hospice and St. John's Healthcare who lovingly tended to her needs the last three weeks of her life. Pallbearers will be grandsons, William Montoya, Tom Montoya, Steve Montoya, Phil Brummell, Pat Kellerman, Jeff Kellerman and Lawrence Segura. A rosary will be held on Tuesday, February 5, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at FRENCH - Lomas. A mass will be held on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at 10:00 a.m. at Queen of Heaven Parish. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
