Margie May Meyer passed from this life peacefully at her home on Tuesday, November 16, 202,1 having lived 86 years and 6 months. Margie was born in Brackettville, TX, to R.C. and Louella White on Friday, May 17, 1935. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend. Margie was the oldest sibling of five: Charles White, Betty Otero, Patsy Hartung, and Emmalee Jones. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Clarence Meyer; oldest son, Billy Meyer; as well as her parents; and sister, Patsy. Left to mourn are her siblings; four children and their spouses, Donna Harris and Jeff, Mark Meyer and Vickie, Victor Meyer and Gina, and Teresa Reinhardt and Keith; as well as her greatest legacy, 13 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and many other family and friends.
Margie was united in marriage to Clarence Anthony Meyer, an Arkansas boy, on Saturday, November 17, 1956. After 63 years of marriage, in January 2020, she became a widow. Margie and Clarence had many happy years together and made many invaluable memories in the lives of their family, and everyone that knew and loved them.
In the early 60's, Margie and Clarence put down roots in Albuquerque, NM when they bought their first and only home. They raised their five children and were blessed to live out their entire lives in this South Valley home, having many wonderful active years in this community. Margie and Clarence helped start up a little league baseball program, which meant leading in every imaginable way. Their children were very active in many sports and activities but could always count on Mom and Dad to be at every possible game they could get to. Then when their grandchildren and great-grandchildren came along, Grandma Margie and Grandpa Clarence would continue cheering them on in their various sporting activities etc. Even traveling from one end of the country to the other for tournaments. They were fervent dedicated enthusiasts when it came to their family.
Throughout her married life, Margie held several secretarial positions. The last was for Albuquerque Public Schools. Starting in 1975 at Rio Grande High School, then the corporate office where she retired in 2002. After both Margie and Clarence retired, they became volunteers at a couple of Pantry Ministries where they ordered and distributed food to needy families weekly. Margie was a strong "had to be in control" person but helped anybody that needed it. When her parents were unable to care for themselves, she and Clarence moved them into their home as they had done many years earlier for Clarence's parents. Margie also moved others into her home throughout the years.
For fun, Margie and Clarence had friends and family over every week to enjoy a meal together while playing the card game Shanghai all day. They were faithful members of the Church of Our Lord. Margie lived a full and active life for 86 years and will be sorely missed by her family and friends. God rest her soul.
