Margaret A. Rue

Margaret A. Rue, age 80, died Wednesday, April 6, 2016. She is survived by her sons, Daniel "Ernie" Gomez and wife, Rebecca, Edward Gomez and wife, Maria, Phillip Gomez and wife, Claudia, and Gregory Gomez and wife, Elizabeth; ten grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Gloria Dominquez and husband, Joe, Betty Wolff, Lorrina Rodriquez and husband, Paul, and Lucy Rodriquez; brother, Jimmie Franco and wife, Pamela; and numerous other relatives and friend. Margaret was preceded in death by her son, Christopher Gomez in 2013; granddaughter, Cristiana Gomez; sisters, Virginia Rue and Beatrice Sisneros; and Aunt Martha Carrillo. She was born in 1935 in Arabela, NM and after high school she moved to Roswell where she started her family. Margaret spent several years in England and Germany before finally moving to Albuquerque in 1980. She was an accomplished seamstress specializing in custom draperies, owning Window Boutique. Margaret loved to cook and cater and her tamales were the best. She also enjoyed running. Margaret was a long-time member and volunteer at Our Lady of the Assumption Catholic Church. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Services will be held at Gate of Heaven Chapel, 7999 Wyoming Blvd. NE with interment to follow.
