Margaret M. “Margie” Recker, 85, a loving mother and friend to all, passed away Saturday, September 26, 2020.
Margie was known for her friendly and witty personality. She made everyone feel special when you were around her.
As an unselfish mother, she always made sure her children’s needs came first before hers. She would cook large amounts of food for her family and for any neighborhood kid who needed to be fed.
Margie was a creative woman who loved crafts, sewing and baking. Her famous upside-down pineapple cake and lemon cake won her a first prize in a baking contest. She was a godly woman, raising her children in the Catholic faith, and attending church with them regularly.
Margie loved animals and taught her children about the beauty of nature and that we are all God’s children.
Taking business classes at night, she helped her husband run a family business out of their home. Later, she helped renovate homes that they bought and sold together.
She was known as one of the “Golden Girls” while living independently at her retirement home with all of her wonderful friends.
Margie is survived by her nine children, Linda Ostrowski, John Recker, Mary Jo Martinez, Daniel Recker, James Recker, Robert Recker, Susan Davidson, Michael Recker and Mark Recker. She was a grandmother to 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, in which she was known as G.G.
