Margaret Jean Nelson

Margaret Jean Nelson, 72, was born on January 12,1952 to Harry Eugene Busey and Joy

Grace Betry Busey in Topeka, Kansas.

Jean went to join her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Tuesday, April 23, 2024. She is survived by her devoted husband of 53 years, Bob Nelson, her son, David (Carla), and her daughter Kim, her grandchildren, Nicole (Cameron), Kyle (Katie), as well as three great-grandchildren. In addition, her brother Craig (Cindy) and her two uncles, Garth (Lois) and Morris (Beth). Jean's nephew, Chris, held a special place in her heart. Chris was raised by her parents and was like a brother to her. Additionally, she is survived by nine nieces and nephews and numerous cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Donna.

Jean and Bob raised their children in Las Vegas, Nevada, Tucson, Arizona, and Albuquerque, New Mexico as they followed Bob's career in the United States Air Force. She was a faithful member of Berean Baptist Church for 21 years, where she loved to sing, and she also worked in the church nursery for about 16 years. She worked in childcare for about 35 years until her retirement in 2022.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2024, 3:00 p.m. at Berean Baptist Church, 3800 Eubank Blvd NE. She will be laid to rest at Santa Fe National Cemetery on Monday, June 3, 2024, 10:30 a.m.
