Margaret I. Myers

Margaret I. Myers, age 99, long time Albuquerque and Rio Rancho resident since 1955 and a dedicated housewife and mother, passed away January 2, 2018.  She previously lived in Portland and Milwaukie, Oregon.

Survivors are her daughters, Susan Myers Puckett and grandson, Paul Puckett of Albuquerque; Betty Myers Schaefer (John) Datil, NM; sister-in-law, Nancy Myers, Milwaukie, OR; and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Fred Clinton Myers (1980), Albuquerque; son-in-law, Cordell Puckett, Albuquerque; her parents, Judson Rockefeller Russell and Stella Tryphona Russell, Page, NB and infant son, Judson Myers; her siblings, Agnes Spann, Atkinson, NB, Willis Russell, Page NB; Alma Lampshire, Polk, NB, Alberta Nelson, Rio Rancho, Charlie Russell, Lincoln  NB and Verna Landis, Fayette, Idaho.

Margaret was a talented seamstress who loved sewing for her daughters and she was a natural artist.  She loved her home, family and friends and she enjoyed making a beautiful yard and garden.  She was an avid reader and later in life her books on tape.  She was for many years an active member of Trinity Methodist Church where she spent many hours working and serving with the Women’s groups on various local and foreign projects and missions.  Margaret learned to drive at the age of 61.  She became a good driver and enjoyed her new found independence.  She had a wonderful smile, funny sense of humor and lots of personality all her long life.  She will be missed by her surviving family and loving caretakers at Manzano Del Sol, ABQ and her last years at the Rogers House, ABQ.
