Margaret Leonilda (Garafalo) Hammond

Margaret Leonilda Hammond (Garafalo) died Friday, May 21,2021 with her family by her side. Lee, as she was fondly known, was born in Boston, MA on September 13, 1944 to the late Margaret M. Garafalo and Joseph Garafalo of Watertown, MA.

Lee is survived by her loving husband, Donald Wayne Hammond Sr.; her sons, Donald Wayne Hammond Jr. and his wife, Lucy Hammond, and Jonathan Loring Hammond; and grandsons, Ryan Hammond and Zachary Hammond of Rio Rancho, NM. Lee is also survived by her sister, Laura (Garafalo) DiBenedetti, her husband, Stephen DiBenedetti of Watertown, MA; and her brother, Steven Garafalo and his wife, Jeanne (Salvucci) Garafalo of Natick, MA. Lee was preceded in death by her parents, Margaret and Joseph Garafalo; sister, Patricia A. Hoyt; and brother, Rev. Joseph Garafalo.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, May 26, 2021, 5:00 p.m., at FRENCH - Westside, with visitation starting at 4:00 p.m. and Rosary recited at 4:30 p.m. Lee will be laid to rest at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
