Margaret G. Garcia

Margaret Geneva Garcia, age 71, a resident of Carnuel, NM died Sunday, July 22, 2018.

She is survived by her son, Joseph D. Garcia and wife, Amanda; grandchildren, Andy, Halle, and Judah; siblings, Lupe Salazar, and Gloria Muller; nieces and nephews; godchildren; and numerous other relatives and friends. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, Andres and Anita Garcia; and sisters, Candelaria Herrera, Lonie Martinez, and Clotilde Marquez.

She was born in 1946 in Carnuel, NM and graduated from Manzano High School, Class of 1965. She graduated from UNM with her Bachelors and Master’s Degrees in Elementary Education. Her passion was "kids". She taught at Roosevelt Elementary School in Gallup, NM. Geneva was a loving mother, grandmother, godmother, sister, aunt and friend and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Rosary will be held on Saturday, July 28, 2018, 9:00 a.m. followed by a Mass at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Child Parish in Tijeras, NM. Interment will follow at the old Carnuel Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Margaret Geneva's name to Oasis Albuquerque Tutoring Program, P.O. Box 35518, Albuquerque, NM 87176.
