Margaret Beth Eitzen, age 75, passed away on November 19, 2018. Maggie was a loving mother and grandmother, a loyal friend, successful businesswoman, and good neighbor. She did not know a stranger. She had a love for travel, which she shared with her children on many memorable trips.
Maggie excelled at many things throughout her life, including baton twirling, genealogy, dancing, and playing the flute and piano. After graduating with honors from Highland High School and then the University of New Mexico, she taught elementary school in Albuquerque and Seattle for a number of years. After moving to Maryland, Maggie concentrated on raising her children before embarking on a long, successful career in real estate, first as an agent and later as a manager. After retiring, she returned to her beloved New Mexico mountains and green chile.
Maggie is survived by her two children, Zachary Eitzen and wife, Stephanie Cotilla Eitzen, Eva Eitzen and husband, David Roman; four grandchildren, Vivian and Miles Roman and Cecilia and Ezra Eitzen; and her brother, Dennis Craig and wife, Kaaren Craig. She was preceded by her parents, James and Thelma Craig. She will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her.
Maggie’s life will be celebrated at a Memorial Service at Las Placitas Presbyterian Church on Saturday, December 15, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to Stand Up to Cancer in lieu of flowers.
