Margaret Baker, 99, cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away Saturday, May 30, 2015, in Livermore, CA. Margaret grew up on the Moss homestead farm in northeast New Mexico, near Des Moines. She taught school in Moriarty, NM and Capulin, NM where she met Eldon. They moved to Albuquerque in 1953 where they raised three children. They were active in school, scouting, and church activities. Margaret loved Christmas. She made pounds and pounds of candy that she served at parties and gave away. She decorated the entire house using many homemade decorations. She taught fourth grade Sunday school at Central United Methodist Church for 30 years, taught adult Sunday school class, and was active in United Methodist Women. She led a Monday morning Bible study group in her home for 16 years. She loved the music ministry at Central and that continued at Asbury United Methodist Church in Livermore, CA where she and her sister, Shirley, moved in 2003. She is survived by three children and their spouses, Clint Baker, Burlyne and Steve Wilson, and Vernon and Victoria Baker; grandchildren, Bonnie Baker, Michael and Lindsey Baker, Cindy and Jeremy Londeore, Vicky and Mike Ringleb, Jeremy and Eden Baker, Christopher Baker, and Vanessa and Levi McKay; great-grandchildren Joshua, Jayden, Reese, Aiden, Ayla, Alana, Jaycee and Elyn; also, many nieces and nephews. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband Eldon; five brothers and four sisters, Ansel Moss, Bye Moss, Albert Moss, Duluth Moss, Laura Moss, Becky Winn, Clinton Moss, Morris Moss and Shirley Starr. Shirley passed away on Friday, May 22, 2015, eight days before Margaret. A visitation will be held Thursday, June 11, 2015, 6:00 - 8:00 p.m., at FRENCH - University, 1111 University Blvd. NE. A funeral for both Margaret and Shirley will be held Friday, June 12, 2015 at Central United Methodist Church, 201 University Blvd. NE. A reception at the church will be held following the service. Interment will take place following the reception at Sunset Memorial Cemetery, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. Memorial contributions may be made to Meadors-McNeal Children's Endowment Fund at Central United Methodist Church or Central United Methodist Women.
