Mareth Hofheins

Mareth Cooley Hofheins, age 95, a life-long New Mexico resident, passed from this life Saturday, February 26, 2022, in the home owned by her family since 1939. She is survived by several nieces and nephews; as well as grand-nieces and nephews; and many friends. Mareth was preceded in death by her husband, Seth Harold Hofheins; parents, Danner George Cooley and Mildred Irene DeGraftenreid Cooley; brother, Thomas DeGraftenreid Cooley; and twin sister, Myrta Cooley Raney.

Mareth was born in Albuquerque on Friday, August 13, 1926. She graduated with a Bachelor’s degree from the University of NM. Mareth worked as secretary to the Dean prior to her marriage to her sweetheart on Saturday, December 15, 1956. She was a loving wife and aunt and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Special thanks to her home health provider, Vangie Montoya, and the hospice staff who cared for her.

A Rosary will be recited at FRENCH-University on Saturday March 12, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. for those unable to attend in person the service will be livestreamed below .Interment will take place on Thursday, March 24, 2022, at Santa Fe National Cemetery, 9:45 a.m. Should friends desire, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
