Marcia Robinett Zimmerman, born May 20, 1933 in Decatur, Illinois, married to Richard L. Zimmerman (deceased) sadly passed peacefully in her sleep on April 20, 2022. She had bravely battled Alzheimer's for several years. She is survived by her 4 children: John, Tim, Paul & Sara, Sara's husband David and their two boys Alexander and Matthew and Tim's son Brett. Her beloved dog Charlotte has remained in the loving care of immediate family.
Marcia deeply loved her family and was happiest when spending time and organizing adventures with them. She had a great sense of humor and always saw the good in everyone. She was a kind, gentle, caring and generous soul. She was always thinking of others and was the true definition of unconditional love. She was unapologetically anti-war and pro-life. She loved the arts, music and all things culture. She was extremely well read, having enjoyed a voluminous library from which to broaden her horizons, explaining her huge wanderlust for traveling which led to her owning a travel agency for years that afforded her and Rich the opportunity to literally travel and see the world. She passionately pursued and achieved all her dreams in life. Everything was attainable. Nothing was impossible.
She loved the southwest, it's culture and its people. Upon retirement, she and Rich built a beautiful modern day ranch adobe in northern New Mexico and always looked forward to selflessly sharing their slice of heaven on earth with all family and friends who were lucky enough to make it to stay as guests. Marcia's love of animals is well known by all, and she especially loved dogs. Several dogs were fortunate enough to be part of the Zimmerman family. No Zimmerman dog was ever said 'no' to. In fact, her children were rarely ever said 'no' to either. She lived her life leading by love, and was always there to lift someone else up, be it close family & friends or a total random stranger. No matter who you were, everyone was treated with dignity, respect and equality by her. Her table and door were generously always open and welcoming. She had a way of making all people feel loved and important, and by so doing eternally adored by countless others fortunate enough to come across her path.
Marcia's wishes were to not have a viewing or any kind of service. The family will be honoring her wishes to be cremated and laid to rest with her beloved husband in a beautiful but remote location in northern New Mexico.
