Marcia Gurule

Marcia Gurule, 90, went home to be with our Lord and Savior on Monday, August 3, 2015. Marcia was born in La Jara, New Mexico to Reyes and Eutimia Gurule. Marcia is survived by her sisters Isabelle Torrez and Lala Carothers; brother Ernest Gurule and wife Henrietta. Marcia will be greatly missed by 32 nieces and nephews; 48 great nieces and great nephews; 54 great-great nieces and great-great nephews, numerous family members, friends and all that knew and loved her dearly. She began her employment right out of high school with the Signal Center-Signal Corps at Kirtland Air Force Base. She received her degree from St Joseph's College and her teaching certificate then taught for Sandoval County Public Schools for over 25 years. She was an extensive traveler, making sure to visit all the religious locations all over the world. When she was not traveling she enjoyed art, participating in the church choir, playing the piano and going to the casino. She was also a member of the Catholic Blue Army. Marcia is preceeded in death by her parents, four brothers and three sisters. A viewing will be held on Monday, August 10, 2015,10:00 a.m. with the Rosary being recited at 10:30a.m., followed by the celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Assumption Parish, Lomas and Tennessee. Entombment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to Casa de Rosa Assisted living Facility, 10127 Guadalupe Trail, Albuquerque, NM 87114.
