Marcelle M. McCormack "Mickey" Daly

Marcelle M. McCormack Daly (Mickey), 92 of Albuquerque, NM passed away on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at the University of New Mexico Hospital. Marcelle was born in Bayonne, NJ on May 17, 1923. She was the daughter of Joseph T. McCormack (principal of Horace Mann High School) and Marcella Earle McCormack (US Army Nurse). Marcelle is survived by her sister, Dr. Regina McCormack (Marjo Walker) of North Bethesda, MD; her five children, Drew Daly (Jan Vinokour) of New York City, J. Michael Daly (Janet Daly) of St. James, NY, Patricia Daly (Ben Stoner) of Falls Church, VA, Peter Daly of Albuquerque and Robin Daly (Matthew Nau) of Garrett Park, MD; seven grandchildren, Jennifer Daley, Jeanine Gillette, Joanna Daly, Ryan Stoner, Marie Stoner, Mikaela Nau and Alayna Nau; and 6 great-grand children. Marcelle was preceded in death by her husband of 36 years, Andrew A. Daly III (Drew) in February 1982 after a long career with IBM. She graduated high school from St. Aloysius Academy in Jersey City, NJ graduation in 1940. She was graduated from The College of New Rochelle with a Bachelor's of Science in 1944 and worked for Standard Oil for a short time before becoming a mother. Mickey was a loving mother, wife, caretaker and volunteer. She loved to play tennis and swim at Four Hills Country Club, garden, watch birds and chat with friends. She was a loyal volunteer for the Albuquerque Assistance League and prior to moving to Albuquerque in 1977, to the Cold Spring Harbor, NY Library and schools, The American Cancer Society and other good causes. Marcelle lived in Cold Spring Harbor, and Kingston, NY and Bloomfield, NJ. Most recently Mickey was a resident of La Vida Llena in Albuquerque. She was a long time member of The St. Thomas Aquinas Newman Center, Catholic Church at UNM. Visitation will be Friday, January 15, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with the Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. at FRENCH - Lomas. Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, January 16, 2016, 10:00 a.m. at the St. Thomas Aquinas Newman center, 1815 Las Lomas Drive, Albuquerque, NM 87106.
