Marcella Theresa Derenge was born Monday, March 28, 1932, in Quinwood, West Virginia. She was the second youngest of eight children of Mr. and Mrs. William Derenge. She married T. Sgt. John Molley at the age of 26 on Saturday, April 26, 1958. Within 4 years, she was the proud mother of three children-John Francis, Perry, and Pam. She was always the model Christian mother and wife, following her Air Force husband, John, across the country and around the world. Throughout the years, she lived in Virginia, Pakistan, Oklahoma, Ohio, Florida, and New Mexico. She quietly endured Alzheimer's disease in her final phase of life, until she crossed peacefully at home into eternal life on Saturday, July 1, 2023, at the age of 91. Marcella is survived by her husband of sixty-five years, three children, seven grandchildren, and one great-grandchild.
She is remembered for her constant smile and fortitude. She was the spiritual guide for the family, especially her three children. She was the foundation and rock that helped form us as followers of Jesus Christ from babies to adulthood. She tirelessly and faithfully supported, accepted, and consented to her calling as a military wife, sometimes in difficult and trying circumstances. Never did she despair or complain, always there to fulfill her role as a loving, caring, and revertant mother and wife. She labored in love with heart-felt commitment to her children in her cooking, cleaning, and the chauffeuring of her children to the many after-school activities that she encouraged. She also helped support the family in many ways: working part time as a bookkeeper to help financially, gardening and raising chickens to provide plentiful and healthy food, and most importantly, ensuring we understood and followed God's will for us by faithfully taking us to Mass every Sunday. We owe her our hearts, minds, and souls for so tenderly teaching, encouraging, and cultivating us through her entire life. A visitation will be held on Thursday, July 13, 2023, at FRENCH- University. The Funeral Service for Marcella will be Tuesday, July 14, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of The Most Holy Rosary Catholic Church, 5415 Fortuna Rd NW. The Graveside Service will be Tuesday, July 18, 2023, at 10:30 a.m. at the Santa Fe National Cemetery.
