Marcella Fitzgerald, a long-time resident of Albuquerque, died peacefully at home Friday, June 29, 2018 at 87, surrounded by her loved ones.
Marcella grew up in Whitestone, New York, and married John Fitzgerald. As a military wife, she traveled to and lived in different places including Okinawa, Japan and Anchorage, Alaska. She was very passionate about her Catholic faith and enjoyed gardening and reading. In her final years, she lived with her youngest son, Patrick and his wife, Maria.
Marcella is preceded in death by her parents, George and Rose Tugwood; and her siblings, George, James and Rosemary Tugwood. She is survived by her son, John Fitzgerald, Jr. and wife, Catherine and grandchildren, Richard and Patrick Brooks and Erin and Amber Fitzgerald and great-grandson, Aiden Fitzgerald; son, Michael Fitzgerald and grandchildren Kelsey and Delaney Fitzgerald; son, Dennis Fitzgerald and wife, Karen and grandchildren, Alec and Bret Fitzgerald; and son, Patrick Fitzgerald and wife, Maria and grandchildren, Eric and Brian Fitzgerald.
A Rosary will be recited Wednesday, July 18, 2018, 10:30 a.m., followed by Mass at 11:00 a.m., both at Sangre de Cristo Catholic Church, 8901 Candelaria Rd. NE.
