Manuel Lozoya, 80, beloved Husband, Father, Son, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather, Uncle, and Brother, was called to his eternal resting place on Wednesday, January 24, 2024.
He was born on September 28, 1943 in Avalos, Chihuahua, to Julian and Amparo Lozoya. Manuel moved to Albuquerque in 1970 and met his wife Dora in 1971. Manuel was a craftsman at heart building his own home and playing a major part in projects at the homes of his children.
He is survived by his wife, Dora of 52 years; sons, Kevin Lozoya and wife, Rubi and Greg Moseley and wife, Tara; and daughter, Sandra Ferguson and husband, Kevin. He was a proud grandfather to granddaughters, Mariah Barnes and husband, Travis, Jena Moseley, Alysia Lozoya, Selia Lozoya, and Arianna Lozoya; grandsons, Santiago Lozoya, Jason Ferguson and wife, Kristen, Brandon Ferguson and fiancée, Cassandra. He was a great-grandfather to Eric Ferguson, Ryan Martinez, Landon Ferguson, Daxon Ferguson, Beauden Ferguson, Austin Barnes, and Lucas Barnes. He also had a special place in his heart for his niece, Yvette Lucero (Pinocchio). His surviving siblings include brothers, Julian Lozoya, Isaac Lozoya, Ernesto Lozoya, and Mario Lozoya; and sister, Irma Ibarra. He was preceded in death by his parents, Julian and Amparo; sisters, Concha and Pancha; and brother, Aurelio.
Manuel was a proud member of The United Brotherhood of Carpenters Local 1319. He was also a member of the North Valley Senior Center and Church of the Ascension.
He was a hard worker but when the music started watch out; he LOVED to dance, and he loved his family dearly!
A Rosary will be recited on Monday, February 5, 2024, 6:00 p.m. at Church of the Ascension, 2150 Raymac Rd. SW. A Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, February 6, 2024, 10:00 a.m., at Church of the Ascension, with interment to follow at Pajarito Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Santiago Lozoya, Travis Barnes, Brandon Ferguson, Jason Ferguson, Eric Ferguson, and Robert Lopez.
