Maeallen Form died April 18, 2018 at the age of 89 from the effects of dementia.
Born on July 3, 1928 in Asheville, NC she moved to Albuquerque in the early 1950’s with her husband George. She earned a BA in English from Lincoln Memorial University and obtained a Masters Degree in Library Science from Oklahoma University. She worked as a librarian with Albuquerque Public Schools at Rio Grande High School and Polk Middle School. Maeallen was preceded in death by her husband, George Form; brother, Charles Barrett[; nephew, Chet Barrett; and daughter-in-law, Patty Form.
She is survived by her children, Barbara Sanders (Tom Sanders) of Tijeras, NM, Carolyn Gonzales of Albuquerque, Barry Form of Silver City, NM and Tom Form of Plano, TX. She was grandma to 11 grandchildren, Ruben Gonzales, Crystal Davis, Adrian Gonzales, James Brasher, Andrew Brasher, John Brasher, Philip Coen, Ryan Sanders, Patrick Sanders, Emily Form and George Form. She was also great grandma to 13 great-grandchildren.
Maeallen was a gifted genealogist. She was an active member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, the United Daughters of the Confederacy, and the New Mexico Genealogy Society. She volunteered for many years at the Albuquerque Public Library Genealogy Center helping many people trace their family histories.
A Memorial Service celebrating the life of Maeallen Form will be held Friday, May 18, 2018, 3:00 p.m. FRENCH - Lomas.
