Mae Juanita Montoya Naranjo, age 93, went to see Jesus and join the love of her life, Mark B. Naranjo on Thursday, July 26, 2018. Mae was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend and will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her daughter, Cathy Runkle and fiancé, Michael Hackett; granddaughter, Rebecca M. Sanchez and husband, Victor; three great-grandchildren, Delaney, Jack, and Lucas Robertson; sister, Gerdy Sanchez and husband, Ramos; brother, Paul Montoya; and numerous other relatives and friends. She was born in 1925 in San Juan Pueblo to Sid and Ella Montoya and graduated from the Albuquerque Indian School. Mae then continued on to Regina School of Nursing, receiving her RN Degree. She worked for the Women and Children's Hospital in Albuquerque, the Albuquerque Indian Hospital, and then to the Federal Health Unit where she retired after thirty years. Mae was a devout Catholic and was a long time member of Queen of Angels Catholic Church. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held Sunday, July 29, 2018, 2:00 p.m. at FRENCH – Lomas.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the Brookdale Memory Care Facility, and her caregivers Dorothy McGuiness and Diane Harmount. A special thank you to Armada Hospice, John Van Dyke the Director of Patient Care and social worker Stevie Kiser for the wonderful care provided to the family.
