Madonna Rice, beloved mother and grandmother, passed away January 10, 2025, at her home in Albuquerque, New Mexico, after a yearlong struggle with cancer. She was surrounded by family until the end. She was very brave and beautiful in her final days.
Madonna was preceded in death by her mother, Violet Clark; her father, Donald Clark; and her brother, Daniel Clark. She is survived by her three children, Jay Rice, Maren Rice, and Jordan Rice; her two grandchildren, Mannah Ackerman and Meira Rice; One great grandchild Margot Ackerman; her sisters, Kathy Darr and Teresa Thompson; and her brothers, David Clark and Chad Clark.
Madonna was a kind and generous spirit who touched many lives. She graduated from St. Thomas Aquinas High School in Canton, Ohio. She worked as a secretary, administrative assistant, and office manager for various companies in Canton before becoming a small business owner. She channeled her passion for antiques and fashion into a successful vintage clothing and housewares store, Love Me Two Times, which operated a brick-and-mortar store in Canton as well as online. It was through this vibrant and welcoming setting that she met and maintained many of her lifelong friends. Upon retiring, she moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico, to explore the greater world and to relax in a warmer climate. She enjoyed traveling and was fortunate to visit many scenic locations in the western United States as well as in Europe. She continued to foster her cherished relationships with her friends and family back home through social media and occasional visits. Her warmth, beauty, and sharp wit will be sorely missed.
Madonna requested no formal memorial, and her family will respect her wishes. A small gathering for friends and family will be scheduled soon. Details will be made available online at www.frenchfuerals.com/listings shortly. If you would like to make a donation in her name, please give to the Stark County Humane Society at www.starkhumane.org/Donate/Online.
