Mabel Mary (Owens) Cavin

Mabel Mary Cavin passed away on Thursday, June 22, 2023 at the age of 89. She was born in Des Moines, IA on Tuesday, November 21, 1933 to David R. and Mabel A. Owens.
She is preceded in death by her parents; sisters Naomi and Margaret; and brother William. Mary is survived by her husband of seventy plus years, son Steven of Anchorage, AK; daughter Donna and husband Wayne Myers of Rio Rancho, NM;  son William and wife Janice of Rio Rancho, NM, son Michael and wife Renee of Colorado Springs, CO, and son Jeffery of Albuquerque, NM. She is also survived by five grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
She always used the name Mary as her mother's name was Mabel and she preferred the name Mary. Mary loved children and she and her husband Bud were foster parents to more than forty foster children when they lived in northern California.
Mary loved her Lord Jesus and served at First Christian Church for more than twenty years as Sunday School teacher to four and five years old. She also helped her husband in his teaching of Bible studies for forty years at the church and home.
Mary will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She was the best of mothers to her children raising them through some tough times but keeping them in the Lord.
