M. Elaine Russell

M. Elaine Russell, 72, beloved wife and mother, was called to her eternal resting place on December 27, 2018. She entered this world on February 18, 1946 in Albuquerque, NM, born to Ernest and Ida Manning. She is survived by her spouse William Bob Russell; son Michael Van Sickler; daughter-in-law Michelle Van Sickler; daughter Kimberly Wolfe; son-in-law Jody Wolfe. Stepson Glen Russell; daughter-in-law Val Russell; stepson Ron Russell; grandchildren Tyler and wife Yvonne, Jasmine, Brittany and wife Genevieve, Christopher, Kaylee, Matthew, Ava, and Brianna: great grandchildren Alexis and Aiden.

Elaine was known as Nana by all those who loved her. She had a wonderful sense of humor with a positive outlook on life. She retired from the Veterans Administration Hospital after working there for 35 years. She then became a fulltime grandmother. She loved traveling with her husband and her RV club, frequenting local casinos, quilting, stained glass art and spoiling her grandchildren. As our Matriarch she hosted all of our family gatherings and opened her heart and home to family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to your favorite charity in her name.

A Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 8, 2019 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. followed by a Memorial Service at 10:00 am. at FRENCH-Lomas Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87112. Interment at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery will follow service.
