Luis Michael Chavez

Luis Michael Chavez, 53, beloved Husband and Father, was called to be with God on March 20, 2015. He entered this world on January 18, 1962 in Albuquerque, NM, born to Luis and Marian Chavez. He is survived by his wife Yvonne; son Josh Chavez; mother, Marian Romo and brother, Chris Chavez. "Lou" retired from the Albuquerque Police Department after 30 years of service. He served as a motorcycle officer, pilot, school resource officer, open space patrolman and was a special escort to President's Bush, Clinton, and Ford. Lou also served the community as a high school football coach for over 20 years at Manzano, Cibola, and Sandia. He reconnected with Yvonne, at their high school reunion in California over four years ago and they were married at Mission Viejo Lake in California last June. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2015, 11:00 am. at Church of the Incarnation , 2309 Monterrey Road NE, Rio Rancho, NM, 87144. In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted on Luis's behalf for the Children's Cancer Fund of NM.
