Luis E. Cuadra, born on August 9, 1935, in Humacao, Puerto Rico, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2024. He was the cherished son of Dora Lopez Rosa and Luis Cuadra Perez.
Luis dedicated his life to his family, his country, and his passions. He was a devoted father to his three children, Daniel, Alan, and Deanna. His legacy continues through his eight beloved grandchildren: Shelby, Kyle, Jessica, Justin, Nathan, Hope, Jacob, and Alana, who will forever remember their grandfather's love and guidance.
A lifelong tennis enthusiast, Luis was highly seeded in the Rocky Mountain region, demonstrating his exceptional skill and dedication to the sport. He was a tennis teaching pro at Sierra Vista Tennis Complex in Albuquerque, NM. He also enjoyed playing golf and had a deep love for all sports, a passion he shared with his family and friends.
Luis served his country with honor as a member of the United States Air Force. Following his military service, he worked as an air traffic controller for many years and later as a government contractor. His professional life was marked by dedication, precision, and a strong work ethic.
For over 40 years, Luis was a respected and beloved resident of Colorado Springs, Colorado. He served on the board of his HOA for many years. His presence in the community, both on and off the tennis courts, was a testament to his friendly nature and his commitment to fostering connections and friendships.
A celebration of his life will take place on Saturday, June 15, 2024, at the Colorado Springs Racquet Club in Colorado Springs. His cremains will be interred at a later date, at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery in Albuquerque, NM.
Luis's life was a tapestry of dedication to his family, his country, and his passions. His memory will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made in Luis's name to a charity of your choice, reflecting his spirit of giving and his love for community.
Luis will be deeply missed but never forgotten. May he rest in peace.
