Lucy Mihoin has gone home to be with her husband, parents and siblings. She passed peacefully in her sleep October 22, 2015 surrounded by family. Lucy was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who were full of zest and life. She will be truly missed.
Born in Navajo, NM in 1930, Lucy was a coal miner's daughter. She resided in Gallup, NM for over 40 years where she lived, loved and raised her family. She was employed by the City of Gallup for 20 of those years. In 1982, Lucy relocated to Corpus Christi, TX where she was employed by the City of Corpus Christi and retired after eight years. Lucy returned to New Mexico in 2010 to be closer to family. Lucy was passionate about her children and their success in life. She enjoyed watching sports, gardening, knitting and eating with her family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Augustine and Emeteria Mendoza; her husband, Joe; brothers, Tereso and Manual; and sisters, Mary, Agnes and Alice. Lucy is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Joseph and Linda Mihoin; daughter and son-in-law, Suzan Mihoin-Rose and Dr. Ed Rose; daughter and son-in-law, Tina and Mark Goldenberg; daughter, Stephanie Gamblin; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and sister, Lupe Henderson.
Lucy's life will be honored on Friday, October 30, 2015, 11:00 a.m., at FRENCH - Wyoming in Albuquerque. Her life will be celebrated at Tanoan Country Club following the service.
