Lucinda "Lucy" Carrillo Quintana

February 29, 1928 — March 20, 2025

Lucinda (Lucy) Carrillo Quintana, age 97, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and aunt passed away peacefully with family by her side on March 20, 2025. Lucy was born in Albuquerque, NM on Leap Year, February 29, 1928, she was almost 25 (100).

She was preceded in death by her parents, Luis and Ramona Carrillo of Pomona, CA, her husband of 70 years, Christopher Quintana (Albuquerque), three brothers, Cardenio Carrillo, Raymond Carrillo (Annie), Silvestre Carrillo (Frances).

Lucy graduated from Albuquerque High School in 1946, left for San Franciso, CA, then attended college for business administration. She married the love of her life, Chris, in 1952. She worked at Sandia National Labs, finance companies, and various doctors. She was a financial planner and real estate investor while raising five children. She became a certified calligraphy writer in 1976; her work was published in The National Library of Poetry, Owings Mills, Maryland. Lucy was an artist her entire life. She enjoyed hosting, decorating, and attending parties and events; she loved dancing jitter bug with her husband.

Above all, Lucy was a devout Catholic, attending Mass, venturing on pilgrimages in the Holy Land, and praying a daily rosary. She was a stellar role model with strong faith for our entire family as parishioner of Sacred Heart, where her children attended school, Immaculate Conception, Our Lady of The Annunciation, St. Bernadette, Queen of Heaven, Our Lady of Fatima and Our Lady of The Assumption.

She is survived by five children, Cathleen Olson (Reginald), Martin Quintana (Nicole), Irene Commins, Teresa DeMenge (Flip), Anna Sammons (Steve); five grandchildren, Bridgette Guenter (Jesse), Paige Com mins, Renee Commins, Kristin Perez (Daniel), and Adrian Quintana, six great-grandchildren, Waylon, Wil lard, Emilia, Giuliana, Christina, and D.J., and many nieces and nephews.

We are thankful for all the caregivers at Woodmark Uptown, and Ambercare/Addus Hospice for their com passionate care until her passing.

Cremation has taken place. A rosary and Mass will be held on Monday, April 14, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of The Annunciation Parish, followed by a burial with her husband at Santa Fe National Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will be announced at Mass.
