Lucinda F. Kayate "Rachenda or Rusty", 77, a resident of Albuquerque since 1964, died Thursday, December 26, 2013. She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Bernard C. Kayate of Albuquerque, NM; daughter, Donna Fuentes and husband, Randy; granddaughters, Alexandra and Brandi Fuentes; siblings, Ruby Antonio and Victor A. Sarracino; twenty-three nieces and nephews; and numerous other relatives and friends. Lucinda was preceded in death by her parents, John and Mamie B. Sarracino; infant grandson, Randall Allen Fuentes, Jr.; siblings, Frank Sarracino, Ruth Riley, Santiago Sarracino, Lawrence Sarracino, Sr., Paul Sarracino, Romalda Sarracino, and Helen Smith. She was born in 1936 on the Laguna Pueblo and graduated from Grants High School. Lucinda went on to receive her Degree in Nursing from Regina School of Nursing at the Old St. Joseph's Hospital in Albuquerque. She worked as a Registered Nurse at St. Joseph's Hospital, St. Vincent's Hospital in Santa Fe, NM, Grants General in Grants, NM and Las Vegas Hospital in Las Vegas, NM until her retirement. She was very active with the Catholic Charismatic Prayer Groups. She was a member of Our Lady of Annunciation Catholic Church in Albuquerque. Lucinda enjoyed playing Bingo and enjoyed watching Lobo Basketball and Notre Dame Football. But, her first love and the sparkle and joy in her life were her granddaughters, Allie and Brandi, and her many nieces and nephews. She was a kind, caring, and loving person who will always be remembered for her smile. Lucinda was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Friends may visit FRENCH - Wyoming on Sunday, December 29, 2013 from 4:00 p.m. until a Rosary at 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, December 30, 2013, 10:30 a.m., at Our Lady of Annunciation Catholic Church, 2532 Vermont St. NE, with Monsignor Bennett J. Voorhies, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Laguna Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Randy Fuentes, John Antonio, Sr., John Antonio, Jr., Derek Antonio, Melvin Sarracino, and Justin Ray. Lucinda's family would like to express their thanks to the loving care provided to Lucinda at Manzano del Sol Nursing Home, just about every department at Presbyterian Hospital Downtown, and the paramedics with Albuquerque Ambulance.
