Lucille Senaida Lobato Nance, age 76, a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother passed away at her home in Albuquerque, New Mexico with her family on Saturday, August 17, 2024. Lucille "Lucy" was known for her infectious smile, beautiful personality, and spicy attitude. Lucille was born in Monte Vista, Colorado on Wednesday, October 29, 1947 to Joe and Ruth Lobato, a military family. She is one of six siblings and is survived by four of her six siblings.
She is survived by her husband, William, of 52 years; daughters DorRaye Ceesay, and Patrice Nance, and step daughter Stacy Johnson; son Robert Denson, stepson Kenneth Nance and wife Yolanda; her grandchildren, Antwon Smith, Kenetta Smith, Leandra Nance, Kendra Nance, Quandra Nance, Harona Ceesay, Damacio Chewiwi, Alonzo Moody; twelve great- grandchildren and siblings, Kathy Geist, Donna James, Vickie Brand and husband, Jim, Elena Lobato, and John Lobato.
She also leaves many cherished nieces and nephews, Michael Lobato, Tony Lobato, Daryl Simpson, Harrell Simpson, Jr., Cedric Simpson, and Steven Simpson, Paul Harry, Anthony McFarland, Makayla McFarland, Valia James, Steven Fernandez, Sherri Collins, Debbie Smith, and Danette Geist. Also touching Lucille's life were her friends and wonderful neighbors.
Lucille is preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Ruth Lobato, sister Rosanna Lobato and niece Angel Lobato.
Prior to retirement, she was employed in Civil Service for 20 years at the Social Security Administration and Air Force Weapons Laboratory. She was a dedicated mother, and grandmother. After retirement she enjoyed time with her grandchildren, shopping at yard sales, the flea market, collecting antique jewelry, watching and collecting movies, and most of all reading books and novels.
Lucille's family is grateful for the many health care workers at Presbyterian Hospital, specifically the Oncology Department, Home Healthcare, and Hospice Care. A special thanks to Dr. F. Kenne and staff, Dolores Beames, from Home Healthcare, and Adrienne for Hospice Care.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: St. Jude Children's Cancer Research Center A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 7, 2024, 11:00 a.m. at FRENCH-Lomas with a reception to follow.
