Louise Soto Padilla, age 70, a dedicated teacher, mother, and friend passed away Tuesday, July 11, 2017. Louise was known for her deep dedication to her family and friends. Louise had a passion for teaching. Her love of teaching extended beyond the classrooms within Albuquerque Public Schools where she taught for 27 years. She enjoyed opening the minds of children as a catechist at Annunciation Catholic Church. She was a loyal associate and enjoyed the lasting friendships she made at the Felician House in Rio Rancho. Louise was also a Mom and member of the Wells Fargo Hot Air Balloon Team. She is survived by her husband, Robert A. Padilla;  her children, Trish and Jason Follingstad, Dominic Padilla, Anthony and Shannon Padilla, Sandy Padilla, and Paul Detrana; her grandchildren, Alisan, Mack, Emily and Adrian Follingstad, Ashley and Timothy Padilla, Sophia Sollien, Skyler Detrana; and her German granddaughter, Laura Batterman; her great-granddaughters, Aurora and Bella Napier. She is also survived by her brothers, Paul and Oliver Soto. She is preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Mabel Soto; and her brothers, Ric and Roland Soto. She also leaves behind many cherished nieces, nephews, and cousins. A Visitation will be held on Monday, July 17, 2017, at 6 p.m. with a Rosary to follow at Nativity Catholic Church 9502 4th St NW, Albuquerque, NM 87114. A Catholic Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, July 18, 2017, at 9 a.m. at Nativity Catholic Church. Interment will follow the Mass at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE, in Albuquerque.
