Louis Gallegos

Louis Gallegos, 91, of Albuquerque, NM, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on November 24, 2024. Born on December 13, 1932, in Albuquerque, NM, Louis lived a life filled with love, family, and many close friends.

Louie was a veteran of the U.S. Airforce and retired from the U.S. Postal Service. Louie was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, great-great grandfather, and a cherished friend to many.

He is survived by his children, Lyndia Chavez, Michael Gallegos, Elizabeth Zamora, Darlene Gallegos, Stephen Gallegos, Melody Dyer, and Susan Earhart; sister, Mary Ann Sanchez.

Louie was predeceased by his wife, Mary Jo Gallegos; daughters, Laura Gallegos and Eileen Prince; parents, Manuel Antonio Gallegos and Filipita T. Gallegos.

Louie was well known to those in his community for over 50 years. He cherished the friendships he and his beloved dog, Buddy, made throughout the years.

A rosary will be recited at 10:00 am on Thursday December 19, 2024 at French Funerals and Cremations located at 7121 Wyoming Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87109. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Louie's memory.
