Age 89, died April 28, 2014. He is survived by his children; daughter, Priscilla and husband Frank Allen of Las Cruces; and sons, Jesus "Al" Carreon of Las Cruses and Richard A. Carreon of Tucson; Grandchildren, Julie and husband David Reyes, of Las Cruces, Gina and husband Ryan Dillard, of Albuquerque, Mariah Carreon of San Diego, California, and Gabriel and Javier Carreon of Las Cruces; great grandchildren, Joshua, Jasmine, Jade, Abryanna Carreon, and Fabian and Alyssa Reyes; sister, Olga and husband Freddie Turieta; and uncle, Juan Carreon; along with numerous nephews, nieces, and friends. Mr. Carreon was born and raised in Columbus, New Mexico and graduated from Deming High School. He served our country during World War II in the United States Army Air Corp as a tail and middle gunnar on bomber airplanes in Europe. He was recalled into active duty during Korean conflict and served in the New Mexico Army National Guard for 16 years. In 1970 he earned an accounting and business degree at TVI Community College in Albuquerque. He was a member of the Catholic Church and made several treks to the Sanctuary in Chimayo, New Mexico.
