Louanne Brown Saylors, 83, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away on Sunday, April 6, 2025, in Albuquerque.
She was born on April 21, 1941, in Toledo, Ohio to amazing parents, Robert M. Brown and Helen E. Brown, who preceded her in death.
Louanne married David Saylors in 1985 and moved to Albuquerque where he survives her. She is also survived by her step-son, Kevin Saylors; brother- in- law, Fred Oliger; nieces and nephews: Janelle Myers, Kendra(Kevin) Grubinski, and Bradley Oliger; great- nieces and nephews: Lauren and Allie Myers, Julia (Eric) Momenee, Emma, Joey (Brie) and Scarlett Grubinski, Ethan, Sadie, Brody, and Triton Oliger; and great-great-nephews, Roman and Marcus.
She was preceded in death bu her beloved sister, Corinne Oliger.
Louanne was the Valevictorian of Whitmer High School's class of 1959. She continued her education at Bowling Green State University, where she made lifelong friends and graduated in 1963 with a degree in Mathematics. She later loved to Wilmington, DE, and then to Washington D.C. where she worked at Resources for the Future for many years. While there, she earned her Master's degree in Computer Science from George Washington university.
In Albuquerque, Louanne worked in various computer contracting roles with Sandia National Labs until her retirement.
Louanne was known for her love of family, her enjoyment of the game Scrabble- where she played in several national tournaments- and for the beautiful handcrafted pottery she created throughout the years. She traveled the world, attending 8 Olympic Games with her husband Dave, and enjoyed more than 20 trips to Europe and the Far East.
She was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Services will be held at FRENCH- Lomas on Monday April 28, 2025, at 3:00 pm. A Memorial will also be held in Toledo, Ohio on Sunday, May 4, 2025, at 2:00 pm.
