Lori Lynne Sturgess

Lori Lynne Sturgess, 55, passed away on March 30, 2017. She was born on February 25, 1962 to Betty and Fred Gardner in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
Lori is survived by her three sons, Christopher Scott, Jonathan David, Jeremy Charles and wife Michelle; devoted husband Tracy Kuntz; sisters Dawn Higgins, Linda Higgins, Alice and husband Steve Wylie; sister-in-law Connie Higgins; nieces and nephews, Tommy, Chad, Kristene and husband Brandon, Ami, Kelly, Tim and wife Stephanie, Andrea, Sarah and husband Bryce; pride and joy, grandson Parker Bailey; beloved cats, Spot and Joe. She will be missed by numerous relatives, friends, colleagues, students, and all who knew and loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents, Betty Higgins and Rodger Dreier; brother Charles Higgins and nephew Scott Campbell.
Lori was a graduate of Highland High School in 1979 and got her Bachelor's degree from College of Santa Fe in 1997. She was a National Board Certified teacher and put her heart and soul into teaching. She was passionate about quilting, scrapbooking, and her family. She was a pillar in the community, and had an influence on thousands of students and colleagues over the years.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, April 8, 2017 at 1:00 p.m., at West Mesa Christian Church, 8821 Golf Course Road NW, Albuquerque, NM 87114. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to West Mesa Christian Church, The UNM Cancer Center, or the V. Sue Cleveland High School Activities Fund.
