Loretta Ann Whaley, age 72, a resident of Albuquerque, born in Hackensack, NJ on July 17, 1941, peacefully entered Heaven's gates on March 1, 2014. Loretta had an unwavering faith in God and was a member of John XXIII Catholic Community. She was well known for making friends feel like family and offering warm meals and kind words. Her nurturing spirit and loving heart will be missed by all who were fortunate enough to have her in their lives. Loretta worked tirelessly in the medical field to help ease suffering for more than 20 years as a medical office manager. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, spoiling her grandchildren, and making every holiday special. Loretta was predeceased by her loving father, Thomas Murphy; mother, Dorothy Murphy; and her brother, Tom Murphy. Loretta is survived by her husband, James Whaley; children, Scott and Diane Whaley, Donna and Tony Snyder, and Michael and Carol Whaley; as well as grandchildren, Tyler Witt, Kristen Snyder, Tiffani Whaley and Noelle Whaley. The family gives their greatest gratitude to all who helped care for Loretta and make her final days comfortable and her passing peaceful. Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, March 11, 2014, 11:00 a.m., at John XXIII Catholic Community, 4831 Tramway Ridge Dr. NE in Albuquerque. "Be still and know that I am God."
