Loretta Lynn Flores

January 1, 1970 — January 1, 1970

Loretta "Lori" Flores lost her battle with COVID-19 and left her loved ones behind on Thursday, April 7, 2022. Lori was a long-time resident of Albuquerque, moving here from Tucson after marrying her husband of 46 years, Manny Flores. Before that she lived in Cañon City Colorado, as well as San Carlos Mexico, where she was a scuba diving instructor, and helped ran her families dive shop. Once in Albuquerque she spent many years as a substitute teacher and then went on to work as a legal assistant until she retired.

Lori was preceded in death by her mother, Betty Jean; brother, Frank; sister, Becky; father and mother-in-law, Gilbert and Soila Flores; and most recently and heartbreaking, her grandson, Christopher Flores. Lori leaves behind her husband of 46 years, Manny Flores; one son, Jacob; two daughters, Sara and Amanda; five grandsons, Anthony, Mason, Kyle, Orion, and Aiden; her only granddaughter, Megan; great-granddaughter, Camila; sister, Helen (Jack) Brugger of Tucson Arizona; brother, Adam (Steve) also of Tucson Arizona; as well as many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, all who loved and will miss her.

Lori's quick wit and easy-going funny sense of humor will be greatly missed by all those she leaves behind, especially her grandkids, who she called her best friends. As her family and friends well know, Lori hated to be fussed over therefore instead of a funeral, there will be a small intimate family gathering and last viewing of Lori. The family will plan a celebration of Lori's life at a later date which will be announced to friends and family when it is decided. Lori's Facebook page will be left open for those who wish to leave her a message and say their final goodbyes. The family wishes to give a huge thank you to the staff of Compassus Hospice care team, in particular Blanca and Melissa for all their help in caring for mom in her final days. On behalf of the entire Flores family, please accept our deepest thanks. You guided us with grace and dignity in providing mom with the very best care possible. Knowing mom was in your caring hands gave us great comfort during the most difficult days of her life. Even in her final hours, our family took comfort knowing that you were the ones caring for her. Thank you for your compassion, kindness and respect at such a difficult time.
