Lorella Lovato was born in Bernalillo NM on Friday, November 8, 1935 and lived her adult life in Algodones NM. She was called home to our Lord on Sunday, March 12, 2023. Lorella was preceded in death by her husband, Benino (Bennie) Lovato; parents, Santiago and Maria Armijo; grandsons, Jonathan Trujillo, and Eric Debroisse; siblings, Jimmy, Frank and Annie. Lorella is survived by her brother, Martin Armijo (Vangie); children, Geraldine Martinez (Paul), Bernadette Debroisse (Raymond), Bennie Lovato (Lori), and Tina Trujillo (Danny); grandchildren, Andrea Martinez (Ryan), Jessica Valencia (Eric), AJ Martinez (Darlene), Aaron Martinez, Bennie Lovato, Ashley Trujillo, Gabrielle Lovato; and great grandchildren, Ethan, Adrianna, Logan, Aria, Sophia, Braelyn, Brooklyn, Kaylee, Zayden and Naleyah.
Lorella graduated from Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic School in 1954. After high school, in 1955, she married Bennie Lovato. They lived together in California for 5 years before returning to Algodones, New Mexico where she would raise her family. She was employed by the Sandoval County Assessors office and rose to the position of Deputy Assessor. Lorella was a woman of great faith who spent time daily in prayer. Along with her husband, they served as Mayordomos for San Jose Mission in Algodones for several years. Lorella enjoyed spending time outdoors, gardening, crocheting and cooking. Most of all, Lorella loved her family. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
A Rosary will be recited at 10:00 a.m., with Mass to follow on Thursday, March 23, 2023, at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Parish in Bernalillo. Interment will be at Algodones Community Cemetery immediately after mass.
Pallbearers are AJ Martinez, Aaron Martinez, Bennie Lovato, Ryan Riley, Eric Valencia, Tyler Yamada, and Nathaniel Garcia. Honorary Pallbearers are Ethan Riley, Logan Valencia, and Zayden Yamada
