It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Lora Lloyd on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at the age of 89. Lora was born on Saturday, September 15, 1934 in Topeka, Kansas. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Lloyd; parents, Dorothy Pearl and Arthur Stansbrough; and brother, Raymond. Survived by sons, David Lloyd, Robert Lloyd and Gerald Lloyd and wife, Joni; daughters, Katherine Savage and husband, Robert, Amy Poland and husband, John; grandsons, Jeremy Carter and wife, Cami, Gabriel Carter and wife, Whitney, Judd Lloyd, Caleb Birkhauser and Jonathan Lloyd; granddaughters, Trinity Carter, Jennifer Nold and husband Jon, Haley Birkhauser; great-grandsons, Caleb Carter, Silas Carter and Harrison Nold; great-granddaughters, Ella Carter and Amari Carter. Lora was a loving wife, mother, friend and mentor. She enriched the lives of children while working as a Children's Librarian at Prospect Park Library. Lora was a talented seamstress and showcased her award-wining quilts at the New Mexico State Fair. She loved many types of music and sang in various musical groups throughout her life, including Enchanted Mesa Chorus. Her journey through this world was marked by deep compassion, kindness and love. Lora taught us "To live the life that is given to us with courage and humor and truth." There will be a Mass on Monday, October 23, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. Our Lady of the Annunciation Parish, 2621 Vermont St. NE., with the Burial at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:30 p.m.
