Lola Earline Martinez, age 83, ended her long battle with Dementia Monday evening June 28, 2021, in Rio Rancho, NM. She was born on April 17, 1938, to Lawrence and Lola Gardner in Deming, New Mexico.
Lola and her husband, Isabel "Chip" Martinez, made their home in Deming to raise their family and participated in many community activities, especially the SWNM State Fair and making that September trip to Albuquerque for the New Mexico State Fair. She was employed as a bookkeeper at K-mart for many years, but her proudest achievements were her children.
She is survived by her children: Larry Martinez of Rio Rancho, NM, Bonda Byers of Lakewood, CO, Mary Franchini of Oregon, Roy Martinez of Littleton, CO, and Joy Gay of Parker, CO; she was Grammy to Tyler Martinez, Amanda Ellingson, Leia Franchini, Sam Franchini, Kalyn Franchini, Chance Martinez, Zac Gay, Meghan Kee, Shaun Gay; and two great-granddaughters, Macyn Gay and Lucy Franchini. She was preceded in death by her husband, Chip; her daughter, Christina; parents, Lawrence, and Lola Gardner; and her grandson, Joshua Franchini.
Lola's cremated remains will be placed with Chip and Christina at Mountain View Cemetery in Deming, NM. An Open House get together will be held in Deming on Saturday, August 14, 2021.
