“Precious in the sight of the LORD
is the death of his saints.”
Psalm 116:15
Lola Barnett stepped from this life into the presence of Jesus Christ her Lord and
Savior on Monday, October 26, 2020, at 4:30 a.m. Lola received Jesus as her Savior
when she was 15 years old at a revival meeting. She was baptized to show she was
serious about God’s grace in her life. She followed the Lord all the days of her life.
While Lola is missed, we rejoice that she is no longer hurting in this life and is
experiencing eternal life without physical pain or sin. We are happy that she has
reunited with her daughter Jera in heaven as well as her other relatives who have
gone before her.
What will we miss about Lola? Lola’s life was an example of grace.
From her personal relationship with Christ, Lola was passionate for prayer.
She has journals filled with hand written prayers. She was known to pray for years
for people and for requests they would give her. When most of us moved on after praying once,
she prayed hundreds of times. Lola was passionate about souls.
While she would never say that about herself, she had a heart and mind for the lost.
Many came to know Christ because of Lola’s life.
She accepted people from all walks of life. She was one of the least judgemental people on the planet.
Lola loved her family unconditionally. Her ability to love despite the things of
hardship that came to her life was a stunning example of the grace of God.
Lola would want you to know Jesus as your Savior if you do not already know Him.
Lola leaves behind her daughters, Jeana Stoddard and her husband Alan, Janetta
Truex and her husband Art; her brother, Noel Braswell and his wife Shirlene; her
sister, Joyce Seratt; grandchildren, Briana Stoddard, Joshua Truex, and Jessica
Truex; her niece, Deanna McDonald; and many other “children” who considered her
a spiritual mom.
The family is thankful for your outpouring of love in this season.
The celebration of Lola’s life will happen on Sunday, November 1, 2020, 2:00 p.m. at Calvary Chapel Ruidoso.
