Lois "Jeanne" Stravasnik

Lois "Jeanne" Stravasnik, age 88, passed away Tuesday, November 5, 2013 after a courageous battle with lung cancer. She is survived by her children, Richard Stravasnik and his wife, Deborah, and Meg Lindsey and her husband, Marshall; grandchildren, Travis Stravasnik, Jolene Lindsey, Kimberly Pzoniak and Kris Lindsey; seven great-grandchildren; and one sister, Ann Goncher. Jeanne was preceded in death by her husband, Luke Stravasnik, in 1978, and her loving companion, Ed Holt in 1994. Jeanne enjoyed time in Albuquerque with family, but spent many winters in Florida, where she enjoyed her walks on the beach and spending time with her many friends. She worked as a telephone operator at night in New Orleans, wedding cake baker and census taker, but her greatest joy was being a homemaker. She and her family lived in many cities, including New Orleans, Buffalo, finally settling in Albuquerque in 1956. Jeanne will be remembered for her generosity, her strength and her compassion towards others. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at FRENCH - Rio Rancho. A reception will follow at the family home.
