Lois (Rynning) Rood

Lois Rood, 88, beloved wife and mother, was called to her eternal resting place on January 14, 2019. She entered this world on April 9, 1930 in Fargo, ND, born to Loyd and Stella Rynning. She is survived by her husband, Kletus Rood; daughter, Laura Hoberg; son, Andrew Rood (Claudia); grandsons, Erik Hoberg, Jerry Kinnunen, Steve Kinnunen (Jackie); and Chris Kinnunen (Amber); great-grandchildren, Julianne, Joshua, Zaiden, Riker, Scarlet, and Iris Kinnunen; niece, Cathy Tryggestad (Curt); great-nieces and nephews, Jamie Rank, Tony Rank, Nikolene Tryggestad, and Nels Tryggestad.

Klete and Lois married on October 20, 1956 after meeting each other on a blind date on April Fool's Day. Prior to her marriage, Lois was an insurance manager with USAA insurance company in San Antonio, Texas.

As the wife of an airline pilot, Lois shared many travel adventures with family and friends. She was active in Church and volunteer and philanthropic organizations, including PEO and Cosmopolitan women's service clubs; Scandinavian Club; Girl Scouts when her daughter was in grade school; and many other activities that enriched the lives of people around her.

Services will be held Saturday, January 19, 2019, 11:00 a.m., at Christ Lutheran Church, 7701 Candelaria Rd NE. Friends may visit Friday, January 18, 2019, 4:00-6:00 p.m. at FRENCH – Wyoming. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Christ Lutheran Church and School.
