Lois Lanoue

May 31, 1917 — April 9, 2013

LANOUE, LOISLois Mae Honert Lanoue, 95, died April 9, 2013 at the Warm Beach Health Care Center in Stanwood, Washington with family by her side. Born May 31, 1917 in Carpentersville, Illinois she attended Zion United Church of Christ with her mother and grandmother. She graduated from Dundee High School in 1934, after which she did office work for a local company. Lois met her husband, Arthur R. Lanoue while roller skating. They eloped on June 29, 1940. She kept busy with home and family and later worked as a nanny and office worker. Her interests included flowers and quilting. She made quilts for her grand and great grandchildren and many others. Her 'favorite people' were babies. She enjoyed visiting with family and friends and loved going to church and worshipping the Lord. Her favorite songs were the beautiful hymns written by Fanny Crosby. She said, "Fanny Crosby was blind, but could SEE better than most of us." She was strong in her Christian faith and all her family has been blessed by her encouragement and prayers. She is survived by two sons: Brian Lanoue (Glendarae) of Townsend ,TN; Randy Lanoue (Terri) of Wylie, TX and 5 daughters: Muriel Arndt (Clifford) of Stanwood, WA.; Wendy Riggan (Rodney) of Lubbock, TX; Adele Swanson (David ) of Tuttle, OK; Joy Johnson (James) of Laurel, MT; and Lori Seale (Randy) of Pineville, LA. Additional survivors include 21 grandchildren and over 50 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur; infant daughter, Christina Mae and her brother, Lyle Honert. In lieu of flowers, the family requests gifts are sent to Warm Beach Health Care Center, Stanwood, WA. French Funerals & Cremations are handling arrangements. On April 18, 2013 there will be a viewing from 9:30 - 11:00 am at French - University, 1111 University Blvd, NE, Albuquerque , NM followed by a graveside service at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE, Albuquerque, NM.
