Lois Kuhn Keck

Lois Marie Kuhn Keck, age 85, a resident of Albuquerque since 1957, passed peacefully from this life in her home on January 18, 2022. Lois was preceded in death by loving her husband of 55 years, Leon Junior Keck. She is survived by daughter Joan Lamunyon Sanford and partner Sami Wolf of Albuquerque, Joan's children Matthew Leon Richardson and Kristina Lynn Cordova and great grandchildren Aurora Marley, Axl Leon, and Ayzal Rose; daughter Laura Keck Gallaway and husband Scott of Fairview Tx, and their children Scott Austin and Glynn Ellen; son Leon Jason Keck wife Deborah and their children Leon Alexander and Reece Mitchel; and sister Mary Ann Rhea of Joplin Mo. She was also preceded in death by Her parents, John Charles and Vivian Kuhn, and brother JC Kuhn.

Lois was born in Stockton, Missouri on April 25, 1936. She graduated from high school in Seneca, Missouri and received her RN Diploma from Hillcrest Nursing School in Tulsa Ok. In 1957 she moved to Albuquerque where she worked at the VA hospital. In 1958 she met Leon and they were married in 1959. Lois took a break from nursing to raise a family but later resumed her career working as a nurse for Red Cross blood services, and medical office nurse. She was an expert seamstress, creating clothing and furnishings for her home. She learned to ski soon after she and Leon married, and it became a family sport. She also spent many weekends playing golf and bicycling with Leon and their golf bunch. She was a dedicated volunteer for Albuquerque Meals on Wheels and the Albuquerque Assistance League. Lois leaves a legacy of service and love of family and will be remembered lovingly by all who knew her.

A Memorial Reception will be held at FRENCH-Wyoming on Saturday, June 4 at 11:00 am.
