Lois Carol Granzow was called to her eternal resting place on November 6, 2023, at the age of 86.
Lois was born in Boston, MA on April 5, 1937, to the late Norman and Dorothy Wheaton Vigdor. She grew up in Weymouth, MA and graduated from Weymouth highschool in 1955. Lois retired as an Office Manager for Rodey, Dickason, Sloan, Akin, and Robb Law Firm in Albuquerque having previously worked at the capitol in Santa Fe, and in administration for the Central Intelligence Agency in Washington, DC. She was a devoted and loving mother, wife, and caretaker of many furry and feathered friends who resided at her home through the years. During her retirement, she was well known for taking care of people in her community and was richly rewarded in kind by their enduring friendship. She loved the sunshine, outdoors, and gathering with friends and family on her porch or around the dining room table.
Lois was preceded in death by her husband of 44 years L.H." Rocky" Granzow, her sister Judith Vigdor Riley, her brother Charles Vigdor, and stepdaughter Amy Brieno. She is survived by her son Brandon (Amanda) Granzow of Evansville, IN, stepson Howard (Kim) Granzow of Los Alamos, grandchildren Gavin, Eli, Rachel, Brian (Noel), Joseph (Michelle), Stacey (Andrew), seven great-grandchildren, as well as her nieces Barbara Reppart, and Debbie (Dale) Wood and her nephews Brian (Erica) Hall and Russel (Susan) Hall.
The family would like to extend our sincerest thank you for the kindness, friendship, compassion, and care extended to Lois over the past few years by family, friends, and medical staff. Also, special thanks to the kind staff of North River Health Campus and Deaconess Hospice for providing the support and compassion needed to keep Lois comfortable during her rehab, illnesses, and passing these past few months.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, December 18, 2023, at French Funeral Home, 1111 University Blvd NE, Albuquerque, NM 87102. Internment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 2:30 p.m.
