Lloyd M. Melick

Lloyd M. Melick, 94, of Placitas, New Mexico, passed away in Albuquerque on December 15, 2016. He was born in Omaha, Nebraska.
Lloyd served in World War II with the Engineer General Service Battalion on Saipan and Oahu. He graduated from the University of Nebraska and married Julia Murphy in 1949. The couple moved to New Mexico, where he worked for Sandia National Labs. After he retired, he became a wooden boat craftsman, an avid sailor, and he pursued his long-standing interest in amateur radio.
Lloyd is survived by his wife, Julia; daughters, Pat Turney and Karen Bardwell, and granddaughters, Nancy Greer and Ellen Bardwell. He is preceded in death
by his grandson, Scott Turney.
