Surrounded by her loving family, Lizette Collado Schwarz passed away peacefully in Albuquerque on Monday, February 10, 2025, at the age of 76.
Lizette's journey through life was as diverse and vibrant as the city she called home.
Her career began as an accountant in the government sector, where her many years of service and sense of responsibility earned her great respect. She later became a newspaper editor and columnist, using her insightful and thought-provoking writing to shed light on important issues. Finally, as a Spanish content developer for the New Mexico secretary of state's office, she ensured Spanish-speaking residents had the resources they needed, reflecting her dedication to inclusivity and effective communication.
But beyond her professional achievements, Lizette was most proud of her role as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Her family was her greatest joy, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Her home was a haven of warmth and comfort and was the heart of her family.
Although her health began to wane, her spirit remained as vibrant as ever. Surrounded by her loving family, she peacefully passed away, leaving behind a legacy of love and kindness. Her absence creates a void that could never be filled, and she will be severely missed by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
In her honor, her family and friends gather to celebrate her life, sharing stories of her warmth, wisdom, and unwavering support. We find solace in the words of St. Jude, a quote that perfectly encapsulates Lizette's enduring spirit:
"A faithful friend is a sturdy shelter; he who finds one finds a treasure." - St. Jude
Lizette's story is a reminder that a life well-lived is one filled with passion, purpose, and an unyielding commitment to those we hold dear.
