Lisa Stephenson, age 53, October 11, 1968 - June 6, 2022
Lisa was ushered into the presence of our Lord on Monday, June 6, 2022.
Lisa was born in Albuquerque, NM to Thomas and Pauline Trujillo on October 10, 1968. Lisa was happily married to Brian Stephenson, the love of her life, and her love and devotion to him was easily recognized, as evidenced in their 18 years of marriage. Undoubtedly though, her children were her greatest joy. There was nothing in this world that she loved more than her beautiful children, and she cherished every second with them. Lisa also enjoyed the time and many laughs she shared with her family as well as the love and support she received from her church family.
Lisa gained a renewed zest for life back in 2020 after overcoming a near death experience. Her new love for the Lord blossomed and her relationship with Christ grew. Her unending energy coupled with the love for her family, motivated Lisa to live her remaining life to the fullest. She lived her life with determination harnessed by dedication, exuding the perfect balance of boldness and humility. She was a pillar of strength who overcame many challenges and championed the greatest cause that exists, reflecting God's love! Her testimony has become her legacy and will continue to inspire many lives.
The renewed life that Lisa lived can be beautifully described with Colossians 3:1-3 "Since you have been raised to new life with Christ, set your sights on the realities of heaven, where Christ sits in the place of honor at God's right hand. Think about the things of heaven, not the things of earth. For you died to this life, and your real life is hidden with Christ in God."
Lisa never allowed the many challenges she faced to dull her radiant smile or limit her constant laughter. Lisa thoroughly enjoyed her new life and had a testimony to be admired. God provided Lisa with a second chance, and she took full advantage of the time she had. Lisa experienced amazing physical, emotional and spiritual healing that could only come from the Lord and she thanked God daily. Her memory will live on in the countless memories engraved in our hearts. She truly set an example of how to run the race with endurance and finish well.
Lisa was preceded in death by her father, Thomas Trujillo, and leaves behind her husband, Brian Stephenson; and her precious children: Lesley Ann Monk and Robert Thomas Stephenson; as well her devoted mother, Pauline Trujillo, and her loving Siblings: Anna Marie Reategui, Gloria Zellner (Adam Zellner), Nathan Trujillo (Melissa Trujillo) and Lucy Taylor, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. On days when our grief is overwhelming, we can cling to memories of her and find hope in the promise of an eternal reunion.
