Lino E. Martinez
Lino was born in El Guique, NM on June 25, 1931 and was called home by the Lord on May 2, 2017. He was the son of Antonio and Margarita Martinez.
He was preceded in death recently by his beloved grandson Jerry “JJ” Trejo.
Lino dedicated his life to his loving wife Amalia “Molly” of 65 years, his family and friends. He was a generous and kind man who never hesitated to help anyone in need.
Of the many jobs he held throughout his life, his family is most proud of his contributions while serving as: Rio Arriba County Justice of the Peace, Espanola City Councilman, Deputy Federal Marshal, Abq. Police Oversight Commissioner, Board Member of the Juvenile Detention Center, and City of Abq. Jail Liaison. He was also a U.S. Army Veteran.
He is survived by his wife Amalia “Molly”, daughter Lena Mae Martinez and her partner Don Whitaker, daughter Leora Perez and husband Gary, son Michael Martinez and wife Margie. He is also survived by his grandchildren Angel and partner Britt, Michael and wife Laura, Cruz and wife Charina, Eric, Niki, Dee, Kristi, Teresa, Aaron, and Regina; and great grandchildren Jaden, Kiera, William, Amaya Rose, Chloe Rose, Natorii, and Genaro.
The family expresses their sincere appreciation and thanks to granddaughter Niki for the loving and compassionate care she provided to “Papo” during his illness.
Viewing and Rosary will be held on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 at FRENCH - Lomas. Viewing 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Burial Mass will be held on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at 9:00 a.m. at The Shrine of St. Bernadette, 11401 Indian School Rd. N.E., Albuquerque.
