Age 52, passed away peacefully with loved ones by her side after a long illness on Friday May 31, 2013. She was born in Queens, New York on October 25, 1960 to Howard and Eleanor Capen. Linda as she was known to her family and friends was preceded in death by her mother and father. Linda is survived by her husband Fred; brother in law Chris Cooksey; brother in law Bill Cooksey all of Albuquerque, NM; cousin Robert Capen of Oakland Gardens, NY, sister Mary K. Anderson-Williams and her husband, Joe Bob, of Albuquerque, NM; her oldest and dearest friend Jeanne Monsees and her husband Donald, of Hauppauge, NY; and many cousins from around the United States and her sweet loving dogs Mary (Moo Moo) and Winner (Wee Wee). Linda moved to Albuquerque with her father Howard where she went on to obtain two Master's Degrees in Business and Finance. Linda was a docent for the Rio Grande Zoo. She was an accomplished photographer. The epitome of a "lifelong learner" Linda continued to take on new challenges, most recently learning to play the guitar even though she was Deaf. Linda always rose to the challenges of the difficult circumstances of her life. Linda had a helping spirit and a humor that could light up a room. She will be sorely missed. The family wishes to acknowledge and thank Jeanne Monsees and Sue Stone who greatly added value and substance to Linda's life. In lieu of flowers, you may make a contribution in her name to her favorite dog rescue group Big Dogs Huge Paws, PO Box 24230, Denver, CO 80224. Interment took place at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
